This year was a special year because our elf made her first appearance. I decided we should do something special to welcome her so Harper and I got a few things together for her. We decorated her a gingerbread cookie with the family and made some smores and watched a veggie-tales Christmas movie. Then we laid down and listened to daddy read the Elf on the Shelf book and named our new Elf. I will never forget that night because Brad and I laughed so hard . Every time we tried to get Harper to name the elf she kept saying " Elf on the Shelf" ! We tried every name you could imagine , from Midnight to Snowflake and nope " Elf on the Shelf" she would whisper. So finally we agreed on Elfie! Not the most creative but it works.
