First Father's Day and First Playdate..

My baby is 3 weeks old today and I can't believe I am already saying that. We had a fun week , we started it with Brad's first Father's Day and then yesterday we had our first play date. Brad had a great Father's Day , we spent the day in bed and I made breakfast in bed. Cinnamon Rolls and bacon, okay so not exactly gourmet but hey I have a 3 week old:) ! We lounged around all day relaxing and then went over to Jenn's house for dinner. She made chicken fried steak and all kinds of sides. It was so yummy and Hayes and Holt went swimming in the pool. Harper enjoyed getting out of the house, we sat out by the pool in the shade. Brad got a new iPhone ordered from me and Harper got daddy the season 2 of CHUCK he had been wanting. It was such a nice day and we look forward to many more Father's Days in the future. Yesterday was a fun day as well. Deanna and Kristina drove out to Rockwall with there two daughters to visit. Harper and I went that morning and bought some cupcakes for the party and visited Daddy at work . I work with Deanna and Kristina and we were all pregnant together to it's so fun to see everyone as a mother now. Kymber is about 3 months and Bella is almost 2 months and then of course little miss Harper . She looked to tiny just because everyone else was older. Not much playing , mainly lots of eating and sleeping and pooping but it was fun for us moms and we cant wait to see them play as they get older. So anyways, everything is still going great. Harper is still struggling with Reflux pretty bad. Its so sad when she gets upset, I hate it. Hopefully she will grow out of this soon. So here are a few pics of the week. And one last picture of me and my two girls snuggling up one night just for fun.

Week Two

What a busy week we have had, we have accomplished so much this week.

1. Harper's second Pediatrician appointment.
2. Mom's wound check at the OB office.
3. Harper's cord falling off.
4. First outing into public.
5. First tub bath at home.

We had our second appointment with Dr. B and wow Harper gained plenty of weight again. I was shocked at how much she has put on in one week. She weighed 6 lbs 9.5 oz . She is so my little piglet. We were having a little bit of trouble this week with reflux so at the appointment we got a prescription for zantac and hopefully that will make Harper more comfortable. Poor baby vomits and cries after her feedings. So in one week if it's not better he plans to start another medication as well. So we are praying for some relief. She is also sleeping on a wedge at night to let gravity help us to keep food down. She also had her second newborn screen done at the hospital and I think it was most traumatic for Daddy than baby. He was so nervous and upset his little girl had to be stuck with a tiny needle. What will we do when she starts dating.:) We also had my follow-up appointment this week so Dr. N could check my wound from the c/s. He said everything looked great and I would continue to be sore for 6-8 weeks. That was hard to hear because I'm ready to be back to normal. When I sneeze or try to laugh I usually end up in a CRY.. But all worth this little girl. So now I have to go back in 4 weeks and then I'm OB done for a while..YEAH..So back to my peanut.. We had a big event early in the week, MIMI was rocking Harper and said whats that on the floor and guess what it was ? It was her cord!! Kinda gross but exciting because we were able to give Harper her first tub bath. She loved it and we had so much fun giving it to her. We did it NICU style with a swaddle bath, of course. Now it's just a part of everyday schedule, sometime before bed. Lastly the biggest accomplish of all , I took Harper to target to get Fathers Day cards. I was so nervous to take her out by myself , but it went really well. Harper slept the whole time and I managed to spend double ! It will only get easier from here on out. I think it is more prep work than anything just to get out of the house with a baby.

Me and My Daddy

Week One!!

Week One, went way to fast. We started to get adjusted to having a newborn in the house and we went to our first pediatrician appointment. Dr. B told us we were doing a great job. Harper weighed 5 lbs 8 oz when we were discharged and at the first appointment she weighed 5 lbs 15 oz. Wow that's a lot of weight in 3 days. GO MOM :) The breastfeeding has been the biggest challenge I have ever faced so knowing that it was paying off was a huge relief. I feel like Harper is changing so much everyday. I think she looks more like her dad everyday. So a few things I noticed in the first week are

1. Her cheeks are getting bigger!
2. She loves to be rocked in her rocking chair.
3. Loves when mom lets her snuggle at night.
4. Loves when daddy plays her music.
5. None of her newborn clothes FIT( all that shopping , nothing to wear.) :)
6. Likes the fan , and when daddy walks her around the house.

Harper also had the chance to meet her great-grandparents for the first time. How awesome to see how much they love her and see the 4 generations of girl's together. And the last thing we did our first week together was take our newborn photos. Erica drove out and spent 3 hours getting the perfect pictures. Harper would not sleep and we tried everything. She is going to be one stubborn girl, just like her momma. We are still waiting to get those back but we received a little sneak peak which I LOVE.
Everyday I am so grateful to have her in our lives. It's amazing how much love we have for her already and we are just getting to know each other. So here are just a few pictures out of hundreds taken in week 1 ...

Coming Home

We spent 3 nights in the hospital while I recovered and then on Sunday June 6 we were discharged to bring home our little girl. Brad and I were really excited and also alittle nervous. How would the dogs react? There were so many questions... But we had a great little welcome home party waiting . Actually I called them paparazzi!! :) But It was really nice to sleep in our own bed for the first time in days , and Harper did great. Even the dogs did awesome.
