Sic"em Bears

Football season has started as everyone knows. Brad and I are couldn't resist dressing Harper up to support our teams.. So this week we had a little BAYLOR BEAR. She looked so cute in her little Baylor outfit. On Saturday we headed out to go visit the Norton's and meet little miss Aubrey. We had a great time visiting and loving on the new baby . But the best moment was we dressed Aubrey up in her Baylor outfit and took pictures of the girls together. It was adorable , and Harper looked so HUGE sitting next to Aubrey. Can't believe only 2 months ago she was that little. So GO BEARS!!! Hoping for a great season...

Harper is Sick..

So this week we had our first illness. Harper had been really difficult at night, not sleeping good at all and being a little more fussy than usual . She was getting up every 1.5-2 hours and sometime staying up at night and this was so different because she had been sleeping way better. She never ran a fever or anything. So Brad and I decided that it might be a growth spurt so we just rode it out until 7 days past and she wasn't doing any better and decided to take her to the Pediatrician. Dr. B checked out Harper's ears and discovered her to have an ear infection in her left ear. I was so sad because I could have taken her in earlier but at this age I had no idea she was sick. Being a first time mom comes with so many challenges, but at the same time I am learning so much. I'm sure now I will be at the pedi's office every time I think she is acting the slight different and nothing will be wrong. :) I told him he will make lots of money off me, haha. But we are now on our first antibiotic and we went up on her zantac as well for her reflux and hopefully in a few days we will be good as new and sleeping better. MOM and DAD are VERY SLEEPY.. And Hurricane Hermine is creating alot of rain which makes me even more sleepy...So please pray for baby Harper and her ear infection. Lets hope for no more EAR INFECTIONS.

Here are pictures of our little sick peanut, would you have known she was sick??

3 Months Old

Wow, I think I might actually cry as I type this blog entry. It's funny becuase you want to watch them grow but this stage is so quick it's so sad. Part of me would love some extra sleep and the other part of me says NO WAY stay small.. Harper has been apart of our family 3 whole months and already it seems like she has been here forever. It's amazing how much your life can change in an instant yet you do not even remember who you were before. She is such a blessing and GOD is good these days. Everyday when Brad gets home he says " Gosh I miss her all day". So here is whats going on this last month. She is growing big , on our home scale looks like she is now somewhere around 11.5 lbs. She is cooing like crazy now and has mastered the scream. About a week ago she started laughing which melts our hearts. Brad and I can not even be serious when she does it. The whole family is laughing with her. Oh and for a while now , when I change her diaper she holds her legs up in place. It is so funny, I guess she wants it really clean:)..She has now rolled over a few times. I even caught it on video , which I promise to post as soon as I figure out how to . She loves the water. We have been to the coast twice now and we go over to CiCi's house ofter to swim. She is holding her toys and playing on her own more, it's so fun to watch her keep herself occupied. Sleeping is still the same , a few great nights and then BAM a few horrible ones. She is now taking the bottle better , what a relief. We are pretty much bottle feeding all day and only breastfeeding at night. I hate all the pumping but worth it! Im starting back to work in two weeks so now Daddy should not have any trouble feeding. We also started putting her in the swing in the evenings when I cook and let her watch her cute baby videos. I like to tell myself she really likes the educational stuff but then I would have to be ignoring the times I see Harper and Brad on the couch watching FOOTBALL and she is happy as can be.. So here is her famous pink rug picture to show how much my peanut has grown..

Newborn( I love this picture, she was so upset yet still so adorable..)

Im 10 weeks old...

So another few weeks have flown by crazy fast, and I have so much to tell everyone about. Harper is changing so much everyday, I love watching her meet her milestones. You never really understand how exciting the small stuff is until you have a child of your own. She now grabs at things and will hold them and smiles and coos like crazy. She is working on her scream and I promise to get it on video soon. It is so cute. She holds her head up pretty great now and we recently bought her the HBO series of Classical Baby and she loves to watch them . If anyone has the chance to order these , they are awesome for babies. We are still sleeping about the same. Some nights she will sleep 5 hours and others only 3 . She really doesn't like the pacifier but she is finding her thumb. I took the cutest picture the other night. I found her with her mittens on but she managed to get her tiny thumb out to suck on it.. She is still in 0-3 clothes but getting big. She now weighs 10 lbs 9 ounces. She still loves bath time. I actually started getting in the tub with her. Its so much fun and we play and giggle. As for this week, Brad had a surgery on Monday and so I have had two babies to take care of. He had a rough night Monday night getting sick from all the pain meds but is getting around better everyday. The worse part of this week was that we had our first scare with Harper. After Brad got home from surgery Harper started crying and would not stop for over 1.5 hours. Usually I can console her at some point and I had never seen her so upset. She had herself so worked up she kept gasping for air. So just to be on the safe side I took her up the street to the urgent care center to be checked over. They ended up doing an xray of her belly and said it had an abnormal gas pattern. The ER doctor was alittle concerned but said it could just be colic or something else dangerous so we ended up going to our pediatrician the next day. I had recently changed my diet to Soy , and apparently it didn't agree with Harper. We started a new medication and stopped the soy products and now HARPER is happy again. It scared me and I think I cried the whole time we were in the ER. Everything turned out to be fine but wow I now know how it feels to be a real concerned mother. The most embarrassing thing happened in the ER , the doctor was pressing on her tummy and she BLEW her diaper out . When I went to get a diaper , I found that there was none in the bag. SERIOUSLY... This type A mother didn't have a diaper ! So we had to wrap my precious baby in a chuck pad until my mother could go get me some diapers. OMG, I was so embarrassed . Oh well, probably wont be the last time i do something like that. So I now keep extra in my car.. Lesson learned...So we are all recovering from the week and are doing great. Also we would like to congratulate the Norton family on the birth of sweet little MISS NORTON. We cant wait to meet her and introduce the girls! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoy some of our new pictures..

Funny face!

Emma likes the floor gym too..

Thumb escape..

And lastly our embarrasing CHUCK DIAPER!!
