Little Gym
Today was our first Little Gym day. Brad got Harper and I a membership at Little Gym for Christmas and we have been so busy we hadn't had the chance to go yet. So today Brad and I took Harper to her first Gym experience. It was so fun. Lots of little ones of all ages 0-10 months. We did parent and baby exercise, bubbles , explore time and used the bars and gym equipment. I think Harper had a good time and she was quite the silly girl. She made herself a few new friends and was quite the talker during class. Overall we had a great time and look forward to next week . The only thing was that it was during nap time so as soon as we got back into the car Harper was asleep. So here are a few fun pictures of Little Gym day..

A Day in the Life!
So I thought I would take the time to write down a Day in the Life , just for us to remember really what a day was like when Harper was this little. And also at the same time to remember a few things I have learned in Parenthood I never expected.
So nights are inconsistant at this time as usual. Lets face it Harper isn't the best sleeper but we are constantly working on it and some weeks are great. So usually she is in bed somewhere around 7:30-9 and then on a good night up at around 6:30 am -7:30.Some nights she gets up at 12 we feed her and sleeps the rest of the night and others she is up at 4 am and then back to sleep. YOU NEVER KNOW..
This morning we were up about 7 and daddy goes in to get Harper. It's really cute to watch her on the monitor. She is so happy to see us in the morning. She really never cries, she just lays or sits there and plays until we go get her.(usually with her favorite toy GLOWY) This morning when she saw Brad she sat up and started clapping. SO CUTE!!! I secretly want to go get her but know Brad loves this moment every morning. He changes her diaper and I can hear them talking to each other on the monitor the whole time. Then she comes to see me with the biggest grin on her face and its time to eat.. Harper usually eats a great breakfast and then Brad sits with her in bed and plays with some toys until I finish pumping and cleaning it all up and putting some clothes on. Getting ready for me only happens when we have something to do during the day and usually I do this while Brad plays or during the first nap. Then usually I take Harper and we go make breakfast and then play for a few minutes while mommy eats and I get Harpers baby food ready. So then I put her in her bumbo and TRY to feed her. She still doesn't care for baby food so it's so intresting every day how I get any down her. But we try everyday and this morning we had about a third of a jar of Butternut Squash and Apples. Then I usually have to clean her up since I try to let her feed herself to get her to take more . SO IT IS EVERYWHERE... And off to get Harper dressed which is one of the most challenging moments of the day. Nobody tells you that every time you dress your child or change a diaper that they will try to take off on you. So it's like wrestling an alligator to get clean clothes on this girl. Dressing a moving object is alot harder than expected. Then usually after getting dress I go make our bed and clean up our room, and now that Harper is older usually I just put her down and she crawls and keeps herself busy for a few minutes while I make the bed and pick up. But what they don't tell you is it's an art to do this. You must do everything while not taking ONE eye off her because every object in the room now becomes a potential HAZARD. The one socket in the room that's not overed or the nasty dog toys or the coins that fell out of brads pocket .. ALL DANGEROUS... It's completely amazing how children go for the one thing you dont want them to touch. Then usually we go to the playroom and I turn on Regis and Kelly( yes I DO..) and Harper plays until she needs a nap which is usually about 9- 10:30. Naps are never the same , it may be 30 minutes or 2 hours so I take this time to BLOG, LAUNDRY, CLEAN, WATCH DVR or just be lazy some days. Usually then after her nap , I play fun baby music and we play together for a while, or I put on a little nick jr. on and she watches MISS SUNNY PATCH or Classical Baby.
Sometime around lunch I usually make me a sandwhich and Harper sometimes lets me do this while she plays but not always . Sometimes I have to make the sandwhich while holding her and keeping her from sticking her fingers in everything. Or I keep a pack n play in the kitchen with safe kitchen toys to play in while I cook. I use this alot in the evening while I cook dinner . Another thing you figure out is that kids love house hold items way better than the expensive toys you think you have to buy them. Her playroom is full but she would rather have some measuring cups and tupperware anyday. Then usually for the afternoon we play again ,try to eat again(today carrots and pears), read or take a walk in her wagon or run errands like the grocery store. Usually around 2-4 she takes another nap and I again do things I need to get done all not knowing how long until she wakes back up. So I am usually rushing around the house like a crazy person. Then I have to say while Harper plays I usually watch Ellen or Oprah depending on when I have a chance to watch. ( YOU must take a few minutes in a day to watch something you enjoy to be a good parent :)..) Then I usually start supper so it is ready about the time Brad gets home for work and we eat with Harper in her high chair ! I've been giving her some gerber graduates snack puffs and her sippy cup . She eats and gags on them and plays with them while we eat..:)
(Doesn't she look big with her sippy cup)
She is getting better with them every day now. After dinner Brad cleans up and I start bath time. Harper still LOVES her bath and it's so fun to watch her splash around. We then get her ready for bed and now brush her little tooth. And then my favorite time of the day I feed Harper and when she falls asleep I rock her for a few more minutes and just Thank God for her . It's our quiet time and I tell Brad everyday she is growing up to fast and that I am so scared she will not want to cuddle with me soon. Then Brad takes her and puts her in bed and we finally get to spend some time together. It's funny how we then usually watch some Tv together or talk about the day which usually consists of talking about Harper. I really enjoy this time because we don't get to see each other much with me working the weekends now. I will say not everyday is like this. We really are busy these days doing Little gym, playdates, and everyday shopping. We also go to POC with Brad on occassion. So I know this is probably boring to everyone else but really I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with Harper. She truely is my little BFF ! I just want to remember these days because the days go by so fast. And I thought I would post a few random pictures of Harper !

TWO new things..
#1
New tooth
Harper's first tooth has popped out. It is the front bottom left and its is barely pushed out . It happened about 3 nights ago and poor baby has been miserable teething so we were glad to see it . We cant get a picture because first she wont let us close but also its not out enough to even see it good. But I do promise to post a picture as soon as we get a good look. She is going to look so different with teeth.:) Guess we will start brushing..
#2
First Bruise
So our little girl doesn't slow down at all. She is always on the move and is so brave. Clumsy but brave!! The other day I came home from work and we had our first bruise from falling. I'm sure we will have plenty to come.. So here is a picture of the TINY bruise...:) Right under her left eye..

So here is Harper talking to herself. I love listening to her babble on and on. Funny how I can't imagine her talking to me but before long she will be.

Naptime
This week I had just put Harper down for a nap and went to the kitchen to get a quick drink , when a little EMMA snuck in the playroom and decided to take a nap with the baby. I had Harper on a blanket on the floor and so Emma planted herself on my pillow I was using to lay with her. I grabbed the camera a snatched a picture right before I excused her from the room. It was pretty cute , its funny how she really loves Harper. Everyday she lays right outside the playroom gate just hoping I will invite her in. Maybe one day EMMA, until then WE STILL Love YOU...
First snow day 2011
So the cold weather has finally hit. We had our first snow this year on January 9th. I was actually at work but Brad was home with Harper. I always seem to work on the snow days and it made me kinda sad to miss Harper's first snow. But Brad did awesome and took some quick pictures of Harper out in her first snow experience. Then quickly left to head to the coast before the roads got bad and Mimi headed up to stay with Harper. Cici and Papa came over and kept things together for a few hours too. Talk about a group effort. The weather can sure make every thing change quickly. But overall we got a few inches and it ended up staying around quite a while since the tempetures were so low. So here are a few pictures of Harper in the snow and the house all covered in white beauty. Sometimes I think I would love to have snow more!!!
She was probably wondering what the white stuff was!
And why not taste it !! :)

7 months Old
Just as every month, I am still so shocked at how fast this year is flying by. We just celebrated our first New Years Eve with our baby girl and we are so excited to see what 2011 has to bring our way. 2010 was the best year of our lives so I'm really excited to see what 2011 brings to us. Harper is growing like a weed these days. She is now in her 6 month clothes and has the cutest chubby thighs. Her hair is getting a little longer, we laugh because we have to push it behind her ears yet it is not that much hair. Her eyes are looking a little green but still more blue. I think she is going to have her daddy's eyes but we will see. She is eating foods everyday but still isn't a fan of solids. We have to trick her to get her to take them, we are so sneaky some days. Her favorite so far is Bananas. Brad and I have been making some baby food and I have to say she hated our Green Beans the most! :) This girl liked Prunes better than green beans! But we will keep trying and hopefully she will start to love her food better.
New this past month...
1. She blows bubbles with her lips pressed together. It is so funny and after she eats, it leaves an awesome milk mustache.
2. She is crawling up a storm; Into everything, including drawers and anything she isn't supposed to be in. I actually caught her today about to put her finger in the one socket I didnt have a protecter in.
3. Pulling herself up and standing. This still amazes me. She even get's brave and holds on with one arm. She is going to be a little monkey. We had to lower the bed again already to the lowest it would go. We would watch her on the monitor at night with her arms and head hanging over. TERRIFIED ME. I tell Brad all the time, we are going to have to tent her in soon.
4. She is waving. I love this, and other people do too. The only thing is if I put you on the spot you freeze. HAHA. It is so sweet when I come in to get you after a nap and you wave at me. I LOVE IT.
5. Swinging! I have taken you to the park on any day that's warm enough to be out lately. The smile on your face is worth all the trouble to pack you up for 20 minutes at the park.:) You are so happy to swing and smile and laugh the whole time. The only thing is that swinging is about all you can do at the park these days . But very soon we will be able to do more.
6. Bathtime Chase! We started using the ducky a few weeks ago and now that she is mobile its almost IMPOSSIBLE to keep her in the duck. So we are currently trying to figure out a better option for bath time.
7. Teething- I actually looked today as you screamed at me in your carseat and I saw a bulge. :) So any day now we should have our first tooth. I am really excited to see what you look like with a tooth but at the same time I am going to miss that gummy smile. It's so bittersweet....
8. Exploring: You are exploring everything around you. I think most of the time you see us doing something and you want it too. You are so curious and are obsessed with cell phones and remotes. Probably because you see us with them ALOT.
I think I could go on forever really. You do something new almost everyday. You still hate your carseat and nights are getting so much better. I still hate to hear you cry a little when we put you down but most nights you sleep until 6:30 am. The teething has messed up your sleeping schedule but for the most part you are becoming a better sleeper. Now as far as naps !!!! I pretty much have to lay there with you to get you to sleep . You are too worried you will miss out on something. We love you so much Harper and I feel so blessed everyday. Here are a few pictures of you at month 7!!! We Love You Harper!!!
Playdate
This past week we had our weekly playdate at our house. Harper had her friends over to play in her playroom . I cant say there was much playing just yet but Kymber was in love with Harper . She kept crawling over and grabbing Harper to give her kisses. But I can see that when the girl's are a little bigger they are going to have so much fun playing together. As for us moms, we had food and a glass of wine and had the chance to catch up which was really nice. So here are a few pictures from our little playdate.
Kymber's jail picture.. We put up a gate to keep Harper in now that she is mobile.
The girl's sharing.
