A Day To Remember!!

I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to post about the great news. Our life changed forever on June 3, 2010. I actually took a quick picture that day on the way out of the house. I wanted to document our last doctors appointment. Who wants to forget that huge belly!? The day all started the same. I had worked my last day the day before and was so excited to be done working. Emma had her grooming appointment that morning so we were up early dropping her off at the groomer and headed out to my last doctors appointment in Dallas. When we arrived at the doctors office, Dr. N was really busy, so we were going to see someone else in his practice. I had seen her before and she is so nice that I didn't mind at all seeing someone else for our last appointment. When she measured me I measured a little small, which I had been doing all along, but it was alot smaller than before. Dr. K decided just to be on the safe side she would have the ultrasound lady scan me. So we immediately went back and when she scanned me, I had no fluid. So apparently I had ruptured my membranes at some point and didn't even realize. As I think back I had been having contractions the last few days but I remember having a little extra wetness the day before at work. The doctor told me that because she was breech and really far down, her bottom blocked the passage which made me only leak a little at a time instead of a GUSH( which is what I was looking for). I felt so stupid not to have noticed, but I was so grateful that we had the appointment that day and that I didn't sit around and get an infection. So they immediately sent me down to have my C/S. It all caught me off guard because we were so planning on Monday, so once checked into L&D Brad raced home to get all the stuff packed up. We were doing cord blood and the box was at home so of course I paniced. Charles had to go rescue Emma from the groomer, just in case you were wondering, thank you Charles, and at the hospital Cheri came up so I wouldn't be alone. I called my mom and she raced from Henderson, wet from the rain to be here just in time to meet Harper. So at 1:30 I was sent back to the OR and prepared for surgery. The staff was so nice since I work there, they never asked Brad to leave. He was able to stay with me the whole time and especially throughout the Epidural, which terrified me . I was so nervous because we didn't know exactly when I had ruptured, the NICU RN in me couldn't quit worrying! But at 2:12 p.m. on June 3, 2010 we officially become parents to one beautiful healthy little girl. Harper did perfect, and was screaming the minute she was born. I was so lucky to have a great NICU team down on my delivery to make sure she did great. Thanks to everyone who was apart of our big day. We went on to recovery after spending some time together and the family was able to come in and meet our precious girl. So here are a few pictures of the delivery day.

Girl's Weekend

Another weekend has passed too quick. We had such a good time this weekend having Girls night out . We ended up getting a cottage , thanks to Robey , out in McKinney. So we all got together and had dinner and then stayed up really late CHATTING the night away. It was so awesome to have a weekend with my Girls before Harper comes.Brad and the boys did the same, and I believe they had a great time as well. I would love to post some pictures but we didn't take a single one.:) oops ... I totally meant to but didn't even think about it once we all got together. So it's week 38 and I had an appointment today. Everything looked great so here are this weeks stats.
HR:150
Total weight: 15 lbs and holding!
Dilation: ABSOLUTELY none , haha! oh well..
Harper: Still BREECH...
So we are so glad everything looks great, Michael is going on vacation next week and is really hoping to be here so we will continue to shoot for our c/s date June 7th. This weekend we also finished the belly cast. We had fun painting it. We had a bird theme of course. We are definitely not artists by any means but we like it so here are a few pictures of Harper's Belly Cast.

And just for fun, here is an updated Harper Shot...

We continue to feel so blessed and hope everyone has a wonderful week and great Memorial weekend. Keep checking and I promise to keep everyone updated if anything changes.

A little weekly update!!

Well, we are approaching a whole new life quickly! We had a doctor's appointment today and everything was great .
This weeks stats:
Week :37
Total weight gain: 15 lbs
Cravings: Sweets :) of all sorts!
HR: 160
We are still on tract for our June 7th delivery date, Miss Harper continues to be breech and comfortable. Having some braxton hicks contractions but nothing with pain. We had an eventful weekend. Little Mr. Walker's shower was this weekend and we got the chance to get together with a lot of our friends and celebrate his arrival in July, and of course he got some really cute stuff!! Mom was able to come up and hang out with us as well. I had ordered a belly cast online and we had the best time doing it. We haven't finished it yet because we are going to paint it, but I promise to post a picture when we complete it. I think this silly stuff is so much fun and it will be fun to compare the difference in other pregnancies. Also we had the chance a few weeks ago to have some Maternity pictures taken with Erica May Photography. She will be taking Harper's pictures for the first year of life and we had a great time taking them at a nature reserve in Garland. Other than Brad's horrible allergies and my minor Poison Ivy incident the pictures turned out great and well worth the poison ivy treatment. :)

So here are a few pics...

I have been buying some really cute things for Harper's Newborn pictures and can't wait to see how those turn out. So for the next few weeks I am planning on resting and finishing up some cleaning. We will keep everyone posted if anything changes. Have a good week !!

Harper's New Safe Car

So a few months ago Brad started talking about how his FJ Cruiser wasn't all that family oriented, and I guess up until that point I hadn't really thought about it. So for the next few months he has been hinting at me that he thought we needed a really safe SUV ! But with all this said, I started looking at the FJ and we really did disliked that Suv. The backseat is so hard to get into and the shape of the car has so many blind spots that it all really did make since. So I told Brad to start looking and we could talk about it. After some research Brad really decided he liked the Toyota Highlander. It was the size we liked and had a lot of the features we were looking for. So for the last few weeks Brad has been negotiating with dealerships and looking for the car he wanted. Today he called me and asked me to go look at the one he had picked out. It was perfect and I love it. Its so nice and I can not wait to go on our first family trip in it.. It's dark grey and Limited edition so it has lots of bells and whistles that he loves. He is already telling me he is ready to put the car seat in it !! So we are really excited now to bring home Harper in her new SAFE CAR!! Cant lie , I may be a wee bit jealous that Brad gets to drive it most of the time. So here are some pictures of the new family car!

And Harper's Room Status:
Complete - (except for repairs to carpet from our little construction )! Which is turning out to be harder to fix than predicted but should be done soon . So we are ready for you Harper , when you decided to come!!

Here are some final pictures! Hope you love it as much as we do.. Sorry it is kinda hard to really get an idea of what it looks like because the shape of the room makes it hard to get large pictures. But the Chandelier does have a dimmer set up and at night its so cute as a night light.

Showers of Love

This weekend was such a big event. We had Harper's two showers and they went so great. We recieved so much stuff and all of it was so cute. First was our shower in Rowlett and I was so glad to see everyone! Becky's house was beautiful , as we knew it would be, and the cake was so cute.
Here are the Hostesses

Some of my favorite girls :)

The Cake!

Then on Sunday we had my work shower and it was so much fun. We had so many cute games to play and the cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS as well. Everyone did such a great job decorating and adding little personalized bird stuff.

I am so lucky to have such great friends and family at this time and I couldn't appreciate everything any more than I do. Special thanks to everyone who had to drive from so far to be there with us both days . It means so much to us and I cant wait to use everything when Harper arrives. Today I met the Pediatrician that was recommended to us at 1:30 . He seems to be just what I was looking for. I am looking forward to meeting him again for Harper's first doctors visit. The location is so close to our house and it was so kid friendly , it should make the first experience much easier. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday , I am starting to go every two weeks and before long every week. I can tell the time is getting near , I am so exhausted after work these days and she seems to be really struggling for space. Hard to believe that in 5 weeks our life is going to change forever. Im both nervous and so excited at the same time. We are also having maternity pictures taken next Tuesday as well. I was not sure I was going to do them , but Im afraid I will regret it if I dont so soon I'll have our first family photo to share. So just wanted to say" THANK YOU "again to everyone and post a few pictures of some of the new things we recieved. I wish I could post everything but that would take to much blog space:). We promise to keep everyone posted as things get closer.

33 weeks and counting...

What has changed lately?

1. Breathing is now a challenge! :)

2. No more sleep , because I spend most of the night in the bathroom!

3. When Harper moves now, it feels so different then before. Its like a slow wave of movement or a painful finger in the ribs...:)Or on occasion she likes to move to the most unusual spots and it amazes me how my belly can shift and mold to whatever makes her happy.
Example:

4. The baby room! We haven't completely finished it! We still have a few final touches but here is a new sneak preview of Harper's new rug and name decal.

5. Back to feeling sick again, :( I think its from lack of space and intense REFLUX. But trying new medications to get it under control.

6. Packed bags. The NICU nurse in me , has everything ready for mom and baby just in case. (I know its early but who can ever be prepared enough.)

7. Brad passing his real estate license test!! Yeah, go Daddy!
.
8. An official Harper arrival date, unless she decides to come early of coarse.
June 7th at 7:30 am , sounds like a perfect Birthday to me...

9. Harper's showers.. I am so grateful to be having both showers this weekend. I cant wait to see everyone and so thankful for everything already. I promise to post pictures of the new stuff we get.

10. And of coarse a growing BELLY!!! So here is an updated picture of my 33 week Belly..

Even though its hard at times , I am thanking God so much for this blessing. We have come so far and everytime she moves I know she is healthy and happy. And nothing makes me happier :)

4D Sono

We had our 4D sono this morning after our appointment. Dr. N said everything looked great at the appointment, and we scheduled our date of delivery. My mother and Cheri went with us to the sono and we all tried to sneak a preview of MISS HARPER. Come to find out , she is still head up and turned facing my spine so pictures were hard to get. Also to make things more difficult she had her hands and feet in her face the whole time. We tried for 40 minutes and tried poking and moving around , but Harper was snuggled in and comfortable. So we only got two that you can even partially see her face and both of them she was sucking on her hands or fingers. It was cute to see that she was sleeping and enjoying her hands. I think she is going to have Brads little rounded nose.. So not much for a preview but still happy to see our little one again. So here are a few pictures , the funniest one is of Harper with both hands over her face as if she is hiding.

My Favorite, little fingers in her mouth..
