30 Rocks

I know its been a while since I have had the chance to blog. We have been so busy every time I think I may have the time to sit down and blog , Harper cries or the laundry dings finished or its time for supper. So bare with me , I promise to keep everyone updated.

So recently Brad celebrated his 30Th birthday . It came at a challenging time since we had just had a baby so I did my I could to make it special. We had a 30 ROCKS PARTY and family and close friends came to celebrate. We brought out Brad's favorite, Rock Band, and had food and cake. I ordered this cake from Brendal's Cake Factory in Rowlett and it turned out amazing, and delicious too. It was a snare drum cake perfect for the occasion since Brad got all new cymbal's for his birthday along with everything drum related. It was alot of fun but a very interesting weekend. I found out that it is harder to do things socially with a newborn. Harper ended up doing great I must say , It took me about an hour to get her down and then she slept until we got everything cleaned up and headed home. She even looked adorable all dressed up for her daddy's 30Th birthday. Cheri made a 30Th birthday video and it turned out amazing with pictures of Brad and his friends growing up and pictures of our past and then of course the birth of our baby girl. I can't lie I had to hold back tears so I didn't look crazy in front of all of our friends. LIFE is just so good these days , I guess it is emotional. We also had some other great news that weekend. Michael had asked me to help him surprise Kristi, his girlfriend, with an ENGAGEMENT ring!! So we acted like we wanted to take family pictures at the arboretum and then showed up late so he could propose. It was romantic and sweet and now I'm starting to feel so old , my little brother is growing up to be a man. We did get some fun family pictures right before we all melted from which turned out to be the hottest day of the summer so far. SO CONGRATS Kristi and Michael and we look forward to celebrating your marriage together. We love you !! So here are a few pictures from that weekend. Enjoy...

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend . Dad and Kelly were able to come stay one night to visit on Friday. We had a nice dinner and then spent the night hanging out with Harper and watching America's funniest videos. I remember growing up watching that show with my grandmother and its still one of my favorite shows to watch. I love the clips with pets and babies. Everyone had to get back to Houston on Saturday so after company was gone, Brad watched Harper and I offically took my first daytime nap. I have been exhausted and I really appreciated how wonderful Brad was with Harper that day. He is such an amazing daddy, Harper is so lucky. After a quick nap we spent the rest of the weekend having family time, it was so nice to relax and do nothing. We have been so busy lately we needed to recharge our batteries. On Sunday we headed over to the Warrens house for Holt's 4th Birthday party. We had lots of fun hanging out with family and watching Holt open his gifts, And we can't complain about the awesome dolphin cake either :) . So here are a few of my favorite pictures from the week. Two Months

Today you are TWO MONTHS old. This day two months ago you entered into our lives. I say this everyday but we can't believe how much you are growing and changing daily. You love mornings, its such a blessing to wake up to your smile. Now you coo at us and have tiny little giggles. Its so cute , I think we try all day to make you smile at us. You love when we read to you, we have been reading baby bedtime bible stories. Nights are about the same , you hate to go to bed at night and your only sleeping 2.5-4 hours. Sometimes you surprise us and give us little more sleep. You still love the rocking chair, I think it's you favorite place to be. You are so much more alert. We have to hold you facing outward to see the world now, you are afraid to miss a moment ! Today you had your two month shots. I was a wreck, I hated to see you cry. But two shimmer band aids later and some mommy love and you were all better!

7 weeks

Who is growing way to fast?

HARPER

Another week has flown by, and every day I wonder where the time goes. I am enjoying every minute of being home with you. Not a day goes by where im not thinking about having to go back to work, even if I have 5 more weeks off. Im only going to work two days a week but im still going to miss you so much those two days. We had a big week, Brad had to go back to the coast for a whole week and so mimi came up to hang out. I needed moral support! This was the first time daddy had left us overnight! We also went to Little Miss Norton's baby shower. Won't be long and you will have another friend. It was fun to take you to a shower and let the girls visit with you. You also are smiling so much now. It started around a week ago but now you have mastered the social smile and I cant even tell you how much it warms my heart. You really seem to know who I am now and its so rewarding. Even though im sure you always knew its so nice to see you light up when I talk to you. I was so excited when Brad got home to show him in person, because I must have sent him 100 text pics and videos this week but its just not the same as in person. Funniest moment of the week, Harper pooped in the bath tub for the first time. She loves the bath and I saw her little face turn red and all of a sudden BLOW OUT. I laughed so hard and we started all over again. Oh well, Im sure you felt so much better and it wont be the last time we have bath tub suprises.We also had our first Infant Massage class. You did great until the end and then you were hungry and tired. Im practicing everyday and you seem to love it more and more ! Thanks to Kelly for being so patient with us and being such a good instructor. I already cant wait for the next class , maybe we can talk Daddy into going. This weekend we are planning to take our first trip to Henderson to visit with your great grandparent's who cant wait to see you again. First sleepover at mimis house...:)So here are a few pictures from Harpers 6th week with us.

Our first family trip!

Brad had to go to the coast to work and we thought it would be nice to spend the week together , so we loaded up the car and headed out the 6 hours it takes to get there. Well, I guess I should tell the whole story. It starts with mommy stressing to the max and packing way to much stuff, and buying too much stuff to take . I'm sure I will become alot less stressed and will learn to pack smarter but with a 6 week old , you think you need everything. But MiMi went with us and had to take a separate car because we loaded down both cars.:) Anyways, we ended up doing great , it took about 7.5 hours on the way down but on the way home it only took 7 because the little princess did great. Even Riley , Emma and Maggie went with us.. While down in POC we got some much needed relaxing time , it ended up raining two whole days. I love the Rain, especially since it's so hot. But after the rain, it ended up being beautiful and Michael and Kristi came down to hang out. On Saturday we went to the pool and Dad and Kelly drove down as well and we all got some sun, grilled good food, took out the boat and went fishing. Well at least most people did, mommy and Harper had to hang out in the shade or at the house because of the HEAT and MOSQUITO'S ! The mosquito's where horrible because of Hurricane Alex that had left all that standing water. I'm sure it wont be long before Harper is old enough to fish and swim with us. July 4th

Harper had her first holiday , Fourth of July! It was fun, we were suppose to spend it at the coast but Hurricane Alex scared us into staying home. It turned out to be a great weekend anyways because Kirsten and Jeremy were able to fly down for the weekend and meet Harper. It was so nice to see them, as always, and I think while Kirsten and I were enjoying the baby , Brad had some boy time with Jeremy. They flew in Saturday and it was raining so we just stayed in and visited, and on Sunday we headed to the pool. We cooked burgers and laid out to soak up some sun.We put Harper in her first bathing suit of the year and thanks to Amy for the strawberry bathing suit , it was so cute. Also Harper wore her Fourth of July outfit , she looked so cute. She is my little firecracker!! Sunday night we cooked a good dinner and watched a really funny movie. I always hate to see them leave but Monday it was back to Colorado. Hopefully we will be able to visit them soon. Maybe by the end of the year Harper and I can fly up and see snow for the first time. 1 Month Old

You are 1 Month Old! I cant believe how much you have grown in one month. You are changing so much every day. You are becoming so alert. When I see you looking right at us , it warms my heart . I wonder if you know who I am or how much we love you. You love to rock at night and love when daddy puts you to sleep. You are still waking up every 3 hours. If we are lucky you go 4, but on occasion its only 1 or 2. You are such a good eater, but struggle with reflux. We started you on Zantac , and are hoping it helps make you more comfortable. The dogs are so curious of the you but they seem protective , as if they know how important you are. I'm getting braver with you, we actually leave the house ! You are an attention grabber, everyone always wants to look and tell us how beautiful you are. We always love hearing that because you are perfect in our eyes. In one month , we have forgotten what life was without you.. Except for that it had a lot more sleep involved.. That's okay, you are worth it. You are making so much noise now.. Our favorite , is when you sneeze and think you are going to do it again but don't and you let out a sigh... Its so cute, and we both laugh every time you do it. Your eyes are still a beautiful blue and you have lost a little hair , probably from all the headbands mommy dresses you up in. Your such a fashionista, everyone in the family gets daily phone pics of your outfits. We love you so much and can't wait to see what MONTH 2 involves and how you change.
